Antique Scroll Dip Pen

The Antique Scroll Dip Pen is a beautifully detailed instrument designed to evoke the scriptoria of medieval monasteries and ancient libraries. The handle is crafted from aged olive wood, prized for its dense grain and beautiful swirling figure, and shaped into a gentle scroll profile that tapers elegantly toward the nib. Decorative burnt-wood scroll motifs are hand-applied to the handle using a pyrography technique, creating a unique pattern on every pen. The large nib collar is cast in antique-finished brass and threaded to accept both standard straight and oblique nib holders. The pen’s proportions — long, slender, and slightly flared at the handle end — are based on historical depictions of ancient writing instruments. It excels with broad-edge nibs for uncial and half-uncial scripts but also performs excellently with pointed nibs for finer work. Includes an antique scroll art print, three mixed-width broad-edge nibs, a 40ml bottle of iron gall ink with historically accurate formulation, and a booklet on the history of Western calligraphy.
